However, the resilient company was able to wriggle out of these problems while operating under new domain names. The law eventually caught up with the 5Dimes Sports betting site, though, mainly for accepting unlawful bets, and in 2018 5Dimes Sportsbook announced that they were closing up shop and no longer taking chances or new customers from the US. In 2020, however, 5Dimes Sports settled with the US Department of Justice over illegal gambling activities, forfeited $46,000,000 in assets, and agreed to no longer take any US bets. Bets have continued to be accepted from other countries, so 5Dimes Sportsbook is partially down to the felt.
